Happiness is the feeling that comes along with a positive mood, lifestyle, and general satisfaction. A healthy person is more likely to be happy than a sick person. Animals cause people to release certain chemicals which can increase overall levels of happiness and ultimately curb and prevent certain diseases which otherwise have no cure. On a psychological basis, pets provide trust and trustworthiness, a positive mood, and effects on empathy in humans. Whether interaction be active or passive, animals have shown to significantly affect the health status and psychological state of humans.
